I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?

I ended up stopping at my aunt's house on the way home from the store (where I picked up my new shampoo, conditioner, and styling mousse). The products were left in a warm/hot car for a few hours, but obviously the air conditioning was on when we were driving home... So, are they still safe to use?

*SOMEONE SAID TOXINS COULD HAVE SEEPED INTO THE PRODUCTS... TRUE?I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?
No, it's not true. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard.I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?
It's safe it's not food.
they should be fine to use. people sell stuff like that at flea markets all the time. i think long exposure can lead to separation of the ingredients but a few hours is nothing. people shop ,leave there stuff in the car and go shopping some more all the time.
Is it just me, or have you repeatedly asked this?

It's fine to use.

What is the best way to shampoo a cars upholstery?

Hi, I have a faint ciggerette smell in my car, and would just like to give it the thourough cleaning that it deserves. I am wondering how exactly to shampoo the upholstery? I don't have any special shampoo, just hair shampoo, and I dont ahve any special tools (steam cleaner, etc...) So what would be the best way to do this? by the way, the car is not a leather interior, and the fabric color is grey. thanks! -GeorgeWhat is the best way to shampoo a cars upholstery?
Bring it to a well-respected auto detailer, even though it may cost you $150. Over-the-counter car shampoos don't work on cig. smoke since the tar and nicotine go past the fabric and all the way to the seats' foam padding (plus the headliner and vents). All these over-the counter products do is mask the bad odor with another bad odor!

My detailer steam-cleaned the car thoroughly and then set off an all-natural odor neutralizer ';bomb'; that got rid of 85% of the smell. Your car won't ever be 100% free of the smell and it will smell stronger on hot days but, trust me, don't try to do it yourself, it's a waste of time and money.

Also, it never hurts to put some aquarium charcoal in your car ashtray. It's a cheap and easy way to keep the car from getting new odors. What is the best way to shampoo a cars upholstery?
Leave it to the professional cleaners. Believe me, I recently test drove a second-hand car that had cigarette smell. Weeks later I bought it and the stinky smell was nowwhere to be smelt. I heard the previous owner had it thoroughly cleaned at the professional car detailer using Meguiar's products(USA). Another option is to stop smoking in the car which I successfully did (being an ex-smoker). And if u do smoke in the car, never switch the air-con or the blower on because smoke circulates inside the air-con system and the smell stays.

How much does it cost to get car upholstery shampooed?

About how much does it cost to get all of the upholstery of my small car interior cleaned? How much does it cost to get car upholstery shampooed?
It will depend on the condition and the size of the car. Will there be stain removal? Do you have cloth seats also? Do you drive a small car or a giant SUV? Without any specifics I can only estimate between $50 - $100.

When you shampoo carpet in a car do it make it look like brand new carpet?

Depends on how bad the stains are in the carpet. If it is just dirty, then yeah, you can make it look new. If it has ground in stains, then I doubt if it will look completely new, but it will look better and not as noticeable. good luck.

Can anybody give me a list of German products? (shampoo, food, cars, etc)? or a list of Arab/Muslim products?

  • My car has a very strong odour smelling like meat gone bad. Everything is shampooed. The odour the same?

a mouse or a squirrel might have crawled up in there and died. check your tire wells and under the hood ( a warm place to sleep).

it happensMy car has a very strong odour smelling like meat gone bad. Everything is shampooed. The odour the same?
I've heard of mold growing in the air conditionerMy car has a very strong odour smelling like meat gone bad. Everything is shampooed. The odour the same?
it could be one of two things.....does the smell get stronger when you turn the a/c or heat on.....if it does you possibly have a dead mouse or rodent in the air ducts.....another common problem for a rotten smell is moisture coming into the vehicle somewhere creating mildew.........there is a product on the market that absorbs moisture and smell....it comes in a can that you just open and place under a seat.....give it a try.....otherwise look for dead rodents and wet spots after a rain!!!!!
If it's not roadkill snagged in the undercarriage, then I'd investigate your air vents, and especially the area under the dash and vicinity of the cabin air filter (if you have one).

Mice often make nests in there, and it's a total pain in the butt.

Will shampooing car interior ruin wiring?

*Idiocy Waiver: I've worked on cars for 12 years, and have never come across this problem. I know about wiring, but have never trashed a car, hence never dealt with this. Don't roll your eyes and think I'm a blond that doesn't know the difference between a turbo and a hemi.*

That said...my slob co-worker left a chocolate bar and unbelievably greasy burger sitting under the mat on the rear floor of my 99 Volvo wagon. *WTFKFCBBQ?!* I did not notice until the next day, when the chocolate had melted into the carpet and burger had left all of its artery-clogging grease in my floor. I would shampoo it out, or have co-worker suck it all out with his mouth BUT I know that there are about 875694 wires under the carpet, leading to the electric seats, taillights, etc. Will shampooing it ruin them? Will going after my co-working with pliers, duct tape and a cutting torch make me feel better? I really don't want to replace the carpet, let alone have to run and splice wires if I foolishly shampoo them to death. Will shampooing car interior ruin wiring?
Shampooing the carpet will not hurt the wiring. Detail shops shampoo almost every car that goes through the auto auctions, and they are fine.

Be sure that you use a wet / dry vacuum to remove as much liquid as you can after cleaning the carpet.

Choice two (recommend) is to take the car to a detail shop, and have the carpet cleaned with a steam extraction machine. Let slob co-worker pay for the damage. Will shampooing car interior ruin wiring?
shampoo away and dont worry/they expect the area to get wet / melting snow etc
wires are all coated with a plastic like substance. getting them wet doesn't matter.

Mold in car, took to have shampooed/vaccumed at car wash...?

anything else i should do? it got shampooed.vacuumed up and u can still see a spot where it was at which i assume means it seeped through the carpet but the actual mold was removed by shapooed/vaccum at the car wash. should i do anything else or was that enough? car smells alot better now....Mold in car, took to have shampooed/vaccumed at car wash...?
I always put aquarium charcoal in my ashtrays (I don't smoke) to keep odors down in my car. You can also sprinkle baking soda on your carpets, work it in a bit and let it sit overnight. Vacuum the next day. Don't use Febreze or deodorizers, they just cover odors up and are stinky!

Shampooing car carpets with bissell shampooer.?

I tried today using my bissell carpet shampooer on one of my cars carpet mats using the UPHOLSTERY shampoo attachment with suction. it cleaned pretty good but it seemed to leave allot of water behind and shampoo, and it took a while to suck the water and cleaner out. I had my car detailed 2 weeks ago and ever since having it shampooed it smells horrible. I sprayed it with?

Febreze and it didn't help- it seemed to just add a good smell with the bad smell. It smells like a wet dog. I allowed my car to dry completely out for 2 days. Is there anything I can use to make the smell go away? I didn't call the company back because it is a family owned business and I didn't feel comfortable complaining to the person who did it and to the same person who would probably come to my house. Please help!!I had my car detailed 2 weeks ago and ever since having it shampooed it smells horrible. I sprayed it with?
It sounds as though you may have a mildew aka mold aka fungi problem due to the moisture after shampooing. My mom had the same thing happen to her after the Kirby vacuum cleaner salesperson gave her a free carpet shampoo. If I were you, I would make a mixture of lemon juice (you can buy it in the big jars on the fruit juice aisle) and vodka and spray it throughout the car. Let it dry thoroughly in the sun. That should kill the fungi. If it still smells funny, have it cleaned by another car detailer that steam cleans the car and will guarantee that it will dry out more quickly!!I had my car detailed 2 weeks ago and ever since having it shampooed it smells horrible. I sprayed it with?
This can happen for many reasons. One is the chemicals they use to clean your car. This happened to me once and my insurance company paid to have it repaired. Check out the site below for more car detailing information.
maybe you need to ozone it out go to a local fire restoration place they should be able to help you out they have good chemicals also to get odors out

Car Shampooing? Well if you are talking about the outside of the car it should cost like $10, but if you are talking about the carpeting I would say about $50 to $75 depending on where you go.

Or does it not matter? Thanks so much in advance for any help. Regards.Car Flooded- Water On Floors/Carpet- Better to Shampoo rugs now while still damp or later when dry?
Get a wet vacuum and remove as much water as possible. The carpet liner/pad will mold quickly. When as much water as possible is removed, shampoo the carpet and get it as clean as possible. Depending on what flooded it, you may never get the smell out of the car.

Did the water get up to the seats? If it is up into the seat cushions, it may be better to remove the interior and replace the whole thing.Car Flooded- Water On Floors/Carpet- Better to Shampoo rugs now while still damp or later when dry?

My dog has car oil on hmself and i cant get it off with his shampoo.what should i do???

he's even got oil in his ears! he likes to sleep under the car and i cant seem to get the habit out of him so please help me to atleast get the oil out of his brown fur...

thanks alot ^___^My dog has car oil on hmself and i cant get it off with his shampoo.what should i do???
I got it out with Dawn dish soap. Then I put vinegar in the rinse water to get all the dish soap out and balance the pH. ( 1/4 cup vinegar to one gallon of water)

You can spread clay cat litter under the car, to make it less comfortable to lie on, and absorb the oil so it won't get in his coat.My dog has car oil on hmself and i cant get it off with his shampoo.what should i do???
rub peanut butter into the oily patches and then shampoo out the peanut butter with a gentle dishwashing liquid soap, the peanut oil will break down the motor oil and carry it out of the fur. then don't let your dog sleep under the car until you get the oil leaks fixed.
Pour flour or baby powder on the oil and let it absorb as much oil as possible, let set for an hour or so and brush through. Repeat if needed. Then shampoo with a dish detergent like Dawn to remove residual oil.
Dawn dishsoap! It'sa great degreaser and is what the pro's use to remove oil from water fowl who get caught in oil slicks. A good ear cleaner should work wonders on the ears!

How do i get the mold smell out of a car? i shampooed my rugs with too much water and cars smells like mold!?

Vinegar seems to be the cure all for everything. Sometimes my washing machine gets a bad moldy smell and I run it through a cycle with a lot of vinegar and the smell is completely gone. Good luck,

janetHow do i get the mold smell out of a car? i shampooed my rugs with too much water and cars smells like mold!?
I don't know having not dealt with mold. But I find ';Febreze'; is wonderful, and you can get this at most stores, even Walgreens. Really douse your car with it where you smell it most, or everywhere. Then spray a TON of a can of air freshner- really cloud up your car. Then shut the doors fast with the windows up and leave it! Let it stay like that for an hour or more.

Do it again. You may also need to get a product for cleaning out mold, but my experience in that is nill. I just got rid of some nasty smells in my car once and the above idea worked wonders. How do i get the mold smell out of a car? i shampooed my rugs with too much water and cars smells like mold!?
Vinegar and baking soda is great to fight those nasty odours.
when your car is in for the night, put two boxes of baking soda in it. (kind of like you do in the refrigerator). After you do that, you could febreze it.
I work for an insurance company, and body shops use extractors to pull water out of flooded cars, becasue until you pull out all of the water and mold that has begun to form you will just be covering the smell. It might smell ok for a little while, but it will come back -trust me. Call a local body shop, and ask how much they would charge or if they would recomend renting one on your own.

Is it worth the $$ to have a car professionally detailed and shampooed?

Can they get my carpet super clean and new looking? Or should I just keep doing it at home? I can get it clean but it still looks dingy- I am using my rug machine on it but I figure they might have a better machine then I do.Is it worth the $$ to have a car professionally detailed and shampooed?
Not at all. Yes, it will make it cleaner than what you can do. They have higher power vacuums for that sort of thing. But to get nearly the same look for only about $10. $8 for the car wash and $2 in quarters to use their high powered vacuum. Compare that to the $100 they charge and you wonder how they are in business. Is it worth the $$ to have a car professionally detailed and shampooed?
Yup! I have mine done every once in a while. It's worth every penny. It shines in places that you didn't even know it had places, it smells clean and fresh and the products they use are persistent (that means it will continue to look that way for quite a while.)

Yes, you could do it yourself - but it's never the same.
Well it can be but really if you wanted to you could spend about 30$ and 1-2 hours of your time and do it your self. This is where I would say if you do not want to use up your time that when you pay someone if you value your money over time or vise versa.
I always take mine in for a detail job once a year...they do a better job. Takei i, show them, ask them. then get rubber or plastic mats to put over the good carpet ones.
They'll charge you $100 and it won't be any better a job than you could do.

When in doubt remember: people suck.

    Yes,

I am a chemical formulator and have made all of these products. However, I do not know of too many people that would just give the formulas away. Most of these formulas take many hours of reverse engineering to figure out the raw materials required to manufacture the finished product. I would give you one but would need to sell the other formulas to cover my research.

You need an HPLC or GC to figure out the raw materials in each of these products.

I use laundry powder soap to wash my car....dissolved in the water first. No biggy. Always rewax after using soap products. Can i use baby shampoo to wash my car??? will it damage the paint???
In general, if it was not designed for a car, they didn't engineer it to be safe for wax and top clear coat.

Be safe and get car wash soap.

    Good Luck...
no damage, shampoo is good to use on cars some new car manufactuares recomend it, i dont know about ';baby'; shampoo but im sure its not different if it is its not any worse.
yes, it wont harm your paint, another thing you could use is dish soap it will get rid of bugs and grime and wont harm your paint.
it wont damage your paint but, it will strip the wax u have on it. so will dish soap.
you could but the real question is why?

Can i use hair shampoo to wash my car?

no - use a quality auto soap , it will actually enhance the shine. Can i use hair shampoo to wash my car?
Use only Authorized Auto Soap formulas to keep your car's paint top notch. If you use Hand soap or any other type that are ';de-greasing'; then you will kill your wax coat and more importantly your Clear Coat. (causing your paint to look faded) Remember. Wax you car at least once a month to keep the shine on your paint. Can i use hair shampoo to wash my car?
u can but it wont do anything. i us dish soap because it eats the grease and tar off my truck
If you dont care about your car. Remember, use the correct tool to do the job, dont modify the tool to do the job.

You wouldnt use the detergent from washing your clothes to wash your hair. Right?

Use car wash for cars because it is formulated to not be harse to the paint and paint protection. Other stuff will cause the paint protection to peel etc.
car shampoo can be dirt cheap and still work well. (CAN be found in dollar store) if you really can't wait until payday, dish soap does work well. shampoo?? most leave residue in your hair, will probably on the car too.

Autoglym works best for me although I have used the Fairy car washer which is not bad for light soiling of the vehicle.

Whatever you choose, it is more important to have a really good wax job done to reduce the chances of dirt sticking to the vehicle.

There's a DVD that takes you through the cleaning process.

Using 拢100 worth of Autoglym products, over 拢2000 of value was added to a BMW estate car. Initially valued at 拢300, it was revalued at 拢2500 after the transformation. The total cleaning took about 10 hours.

go to walmart's or any place like autozone and get a can of tuff stuff spray foam carpet and upolstery cleaner and a stiff bristled brush and go at it, it's good stuff and will clean all your upolstery and carpet and smells real good, give it a try. What is the best way to shampoo a cars upholstery?
Take it to any car place and then ask if they can clean your carpets.
In order to do that, you will need to find a friend with a steam cleaner (Rug Doctor or Hoover Steam Vac, etc.). If not, most grocery stores or hardware stores will let you rent one. Get one with a ';wand'; hand-held thing, and you'll need to get the special shampoo made for those things, usually also for sale there.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for shampooing the carpet and upholstery. Because it's a cigarette smell, you will also want to wash the headliner. If it's fabric you might be able to pull it off (gently) and just wash by hand with a mild detergent. If it's vinyl, use a soapy sponge, and it might take a few times to get rid of the smell.

    Good luck!

Can i wash my car with hair shampoo?

Most hair shampoo's are very mild and shouldn't chip the paint or leave residue. Otherwise, you wouldn't want to use it on your hair.

If anything, you will probably have the opposite problem, where the suds are not ';strong'; enough.

http://www.your-house-home-and-garden.co鈥?/a>Can i wash my car with hair shampoo?
Hi how are you. The answer is yes, but it doesn't work as well. If you have nothing else then go ahead or use dish washing liquid. The real secret is how hot is the water you are using(never use cold water to wash your car) and you must always rinse the car first. If you don't rinse the car before you soap it then rub the sponge or cloth into the paint work you are rubbing in dirt or tar or bird poo, etc. Bad for the paint work. You do know that hair shampoo doesn't have quite as many cutting agents as car shampoo. Hair shampoo is gentle, car shampoo is harsh. In a nutshell hair shampoo doesn't clean as efficiently as car shampoo and you can't damage the paint work unless it is old, cracked, flaking or rusty. Always rinse your car thoroughly I can't stress that enough. Hope that helps advice from a forner car detailer cheers and good luck
Dont use hair shampoo use soap and water then get a rag or sponge and wipe it off then spray it down with a water hose . You also have to rinse it off with water hose first. but if thats to hard just take it to a car wash
You can actually get the car cleaner when you wash it with a

liquid laundry detergent and a rag without the worry of ruining

    the paint.
partially yes ,you can wash with it,actually i've also washed it a several times with the hair shampoo
Certainly. But use the anti-dandruff variety!

I'd also suggest using hair conditioner to keep it shiny and manageable!
Use proper car shampoo other wise you will ruin the paint on your car.

It isn't expensive and it lasts for quite a few washes.
well it's soap, i heard some people use tide laundry detergent to wash dishes if they ran out of dish liquid soap,so i guess it would not hurt your vehicle.
no because the cleaning solution in shampoo will not be strong enough to clean your car completely and most of all, it could leave a film which can dull the shine on your car.
No you shouldn't there is special soap for cars at the AutoZone, its also supposed to be better for your car
the ingredients in hair shampoo can strip the wax on ur car.

Would ordinary hair shampoo damage car-paint?

I ran out of car shampoo the other day, and i needed to clean my car, knowing that detergents and dishwashing pastes spoils the paint, i used my hair shampoo instead, and it was great, works just like the expensive brand that i use n my car, smells good too :p I just wanna know if hair shampoos contain chemicals that may harm car-paint in long term use?Would ordinary hair shampoo damage car-paint?
There are some people who use detergents (like ivory soft soap) and hair shampoos, but most caroholics would not recommend it.

I would think that is has to do w. the PH of each product. Most car products say they have a PH of 7 which is neutral (like fresh destiled water).

Regular hair shampoos have a PH of 5 which is a little more acidic. Now, I don't don't know if that is a major difference or not.

So, I guess I would say just stick to car shampoos if one of your main concerns are paint. Plus some car shampoos are cheaper than hair shampoos.Would ordinary hair shampoo damage car-paint?
i have always used dish washing detergent... had no problems... cheaper than hair shampoo..

How much does it cost to get car upholstery shampooed?

About how much does it cost to get all of the upholstery of my small car interior cleaned? How much does it cost to get car upholstery shampooed?
A lot of places wont chage you untill they actually see how dirty it is. I say anywhere from like $40 to $80.How much does it cost to get car upholstery shampooed?
Good answers. I would go to an auto detailer, if you need it professionally done- they have specific products, and steam cleaners.
There are many products you can buy and do this yourself at a much lower cost. It is usually a pretty simple process where you spray the seats and let them foam up, brush them, let them dry and/or wipe them off. If you vacuum afterwards, it is just as good as paying someone else. Good luck...
It will depend on the condition and the size of the car. Will there be stain removal? Do you have cloth seats also? Do you drive a small car or a giant SUV? Without any specifics I can only estimate between $50 - $100.

    Surfactants :

Surfactants, also known as wetting agents, lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and the interfacial tension between two liquids. The term surfactant is a contraction of ';Surface active agent';.

The major types of surfactants used in shampoos include:

    -Anionic

    -Cationic

    -Nonionic

    -Phattionic

    -Amphoteric

Car shampoo is better or plain watter?

is it better to wash car with plain water or with a car shampoo......??????Car shampoo is better or plain watter?
shampoo is better for one reason: it lubricates the little dust particles that are left behind even after a vigorous hosing. more lubrication, less scratches on your paint.Car shampoo is better or plain watter?
some car washing liquids can be harmful. find something with very little de-greaser in it. that will strip any wax on the clear coat, leaving the clear exposed to harmful UV rays, and such. i find a good high pressure rinse, and a nice soft wash mit, with some eagle one, or mothers car wash, leaves i good clean appearence. happy washing.
its better to wash it wit plain water regularly n use a shampoo once a week.
    Hi,

Always a natural product is Better.According to me,Nothing is better then our natural water.Only some times when the car is more Dirty with Mud etc then you can use a car Shampoo. All types of Shampoos have chemicals and Chemicals are Harm full.Which you already Know

What's the best way to shampoo a car?

are those shampoo machines, beside the vacuums at the car wash good enough?

if so, how do i use them? What's the best way to shampoo a car?
You need to vacuum the car first...Then use the carpet cleaner,I usually leave it on to get the most soap out until it the machine shuts off.I usually keep scrubbing after the machine turns off..you need to work the soap into the carpet until it disappears...then,,let it sit for a while,,,,then you will need to re-vacuum the carpet again.I don't think there really made for removing stains though...

Best way to SHAMPOO your car floors/carpets? My car just got flooded.?

First time this has happened to me and I don't want a bad smell and mold. Wanna make sure I don't make an even bigger mess. THANKS.Best way to SHAMPOO your car floors/carpets? My car just got flooded.?
it is hard to get wet carpet smell to go away i would remove them make sure the floor is dried out and replace with new ones.

How can i shampoo my car myself?

it has that sort of stuffy humid smell to it. i refuse to pay $69.95 to get it detailed at a car wash. How can i shampoo my car myself?
You can either do it at home with a shop vac or at a car wash.

If you go to a car wash, they will most likely have what you need to do a quick shampoo job on it. Start with the vac, get all the dirt up, shampoo and scrub the carpet, vac it again. To really get the smell out, some places have scent sprays, which is basically like spraying Febreze.

I prefer the at home job, given I have all the right stuff.

I usually start with the vacuuming, then use some Resolve foam and scrub away with a soft brush on the seats and a harder brush for the carpet. Vacuum it up, let dry and you are done.

To really freshen the car up you can use a few other methods, too.

    1. Regular old Febreze

    2. Once the carpet is clean and dry, you can sprinkle some of that carpet freshener powder and vacuum it up after it sits.

    3. Scenter dryer sheets under the seats

    4. Or the plain ol' Pine Tree in the mirrorHow can i shampoo my car myself?
rent a carpet and upholstery shampooer. The should have then for rent at any major hardware stores such as Lowes or Home Depot
you want something to work good on carpets ? get some ( tuff-stuff ) auto zone and advance sells it and it works great.

I want to shampoo my car?

Is it okay to use Pine Sol? Orginal or Lemon.I want to shampoo my car?
shampoo inside or out DO NOT use pine sol on any part of your car it will strip the wax on the outside.and really smells like crap and stains the carpet inside.use meguires products,or mothers on the outside.use blue coral carpet shampoo youll love it.I want to shampoo my car?
Are you talking inside or out? Either way I would not use Pine sol on a car. Don't use dish washing soap either. Too harsh for your cars finish. I would just get some soap specifically for washing cars, either at an auto parts store, or the local supermarket. For the interior I would you want to use an upholstry cleaner. There are also some of those specifically for cars. If you can find one to Scotchguard the seats also, then that's a bonus.
that would be ok, but what about blue lustra shampoo.

  • Does anyone know the cheapest place to get my car shampooed?

My friend's car got flooded a few days ago and she is trying to find somewhere to get the inside of the car shampooed...the water was in the floorboards and she's worried about mold/mildew smell from the water. She's trying to keep the price under $30-40 if possible! (Huntington, WV area)

10 points for the most helpful answer!!! Any help?Does anyone know the cheapest place to get my car shampooed?
If she wants to do it herself, she can rent a carpet cleaner with an upholstery attachment. It might do the trick - I've never tried one on an entire car carpet, though.Does anyone know the cheapest place to get my car shampooed?
go to walmart and buy a Littel Green Clean machine shampoo/extractor...they are about 65.00 but they work great and would do a good job for what you need, buy an extra bottle of the shampoo juice, because they only give you enough in the box it comes in for one or two applications, buy the large bottle, make sure it says for the Little Green Machines... it's great to have it around the house, for any type of stain/spill problem... the secret is the extraction, keep running the extractor over the area until nothing is coming up,then it dries rather fast...good luck...
You won't find much for $40. Why doesn't she get a bucket, some water and carpet shampoo and do the job herself? There's not much to it.

any kind of should go to walmarts or autozone...What shampoo should i use for the car seat's?
    wtf?? urine OF COURSE.
If it's leather, use 5 parts water to 1 part woolite mixed

If it's cloth, just use any kind of carpet cleaner and it should work.

But get some air fresheners and odor killers too..just in case...
If you have carpet shampoo machine at home, that will work perfectly. I've used the kind that uses on regular carpet and once it dried spray ';Scotch guard'; onto the seat and you are done!

(another question) Is it okay if i use shampoo to clean my car?

Is it okay if i use dish wash soap to clean my car?

Another question: what would be a good soap if shampoo wont work?

It needs to be a common household soap. I dont wanna go out and buy anything(another question) Is it okay if i use shampoo to clean my car?
haha shampoo would work. as would baking soda with lemon juice. (another question) Is it okay if i use shampoo to clean my car?
I just use plain water and a spoonge and never use soap when I hand wash a car as it takes the wax off.
dish soap is fine to clean your car with. i have used palmolive on mine numerous times and it worked just fine.
DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT AN ANSWER? DO YOU HAVE GREY MATTER?
    Laugh if you wish...

Johnson %26amp; Johnson No More Tears baby shampoo does not leave water spots. The only way to wash a black car without having to use a sham.
if you use shampoo or household soap to wash your car, you will be sorry.
Dish soap %26amp; shampoo will remove the wax...buy the correct product for the job.
To me shampoo is also a soap i would use shampoo instead because it foams up and it can be bought in larger quantities than soap.

    use Pantene Pro-v.....lol

What's a good shampoo for car seats?

The car seats, carpet and seatbelts are very dirty and need a good cleaning. What shampoo type of product do you recommend. Something you can get at like autozone or walmart....Thanks!What's a good shampoo for car seats?

Pretty much any type of soap will get the job done, just scrub well with a sponge and let the car air dry.

  • When you shampoo carpet in a car do it make it look like brand new carpet?

I often have to clean my car carpet after the children kick the matts all over.

I use a house carpet cleaner, one thats diluted into a bucket.Although the car spray foam ones are good for lifting stains. But todear to use all the time.

Try not to wet the carpets through and i found using a car or a flat edge and drag it acoss the shampooed area will help lift the dirt then wipe the dirty bubbles up with a wet cloth. When the bubbles are clean across the carpet i just rewiped with a damp cloth all over.

If you have to use the car use the matt but make sure its clean and remove when finished driving.but watch for slippery feet on the pedals.

Also ideal and same technique for seats but be careful and clean lightely on the roof liner. When you shampoo carpet in a car do it make it look like brand new carpet?
No. Automobile carpets are stepped on with wet, snow covered, muddy feet, and they are out in the sun and subjected to huge temperature extremes.

Shampooing auto carpets makes them look clean, not new. When you shampoo carpet in a car do it make it look like brand new carpet?
Well it depends on how old your carpet is and how well you have taken care of it. What I use to clean the carpet in my car is the bissel ';little Green'; - it's a portable handheld steam cleaning vaccum. It makes the carpets look like brand new and only costs like $88. Best $88 you will ever spend (for car cleaning)
YES IT DOES JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE STEAM.
    cars have carpet?
it might not look like new but it will look alot better go to walmart in there auto section and get a can of cleaner call ((tough stuff)) you can use this on the seats to this will take out some small stains if you got any it is better than the house carpet shampoo..

How much does it usually cost to have your car shampooed?

The interior of my car is a disaster. I have spilled makeup, soda, beer, food, you name it! It's getting to the point where I can barely stand to sit in it. How much does it usually cost to have the interior of your car completely cleaned?

I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?

I ended up stopping at my aunt's house on the way home from the store (where I picked up my new shampoo, conditioner, and styling mousse). The products were left in a warm/hot car for a few hours, but obviously the air conditioning was on when we were driving home... So, are they still safe to use?I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?
From what I've heard (and this might b totaly off subject) you shouldn't use anthing that's been in over 79 F for more than 3 hours. 30 minutes for a drink in about 82 F.I bought a new shampoo and conditioner, and they were left in the hot car for a few hours. Still safe to use?
If it heated the plastic, then no. Toxins would've seeped into your product by now. I wouldn't risk it.
Yea they're fine they sit in the hot anyways when you take hot showers lol

What upholstery shampoo do you use to clean the inside of your car with?

Once Again...Orange TKO. Along with thier products they give you a mixing guide. I've just recently shampooed my son's carpet (He's 7yrs.old It was bad !) It looks brand new. It may seem expensive, but It goes a long way and It gets rid of any smells. What upholstery shampoo do you use to clean the inside of your car with?
I just use Resolve. You can buy it in the grocery store and it works great on indoor carpets as well.

Is shampoo left on your car bad for the paint?

What will happen to it?Is shampoo left on your car bad for the paint?
No, it shouldn't hurt it, but wash it off asap.

Just got diamondbrite car shampoo in my eye?

have rinsed with plenty of water any advice is it still irritantJust got diamondbrite car shampoo in my eye?
Rinsing with water can cause irritation, too: your natural tears have salt in them, and when you rinse with water it washes out the salty tears so your eye will be irritated until the normal balance is restored.

The purpose behind rinsing with lots of water is not to prevent irritation, but to get all of the bad chemical out. If your eye is irritated afterwards, but you're sure that you got everything out, then don't worry about it. It will get better soon.

I like any of the spray foam carpet cleaners.
Spot shot is good if its just a spot. If its the whole carpet rent a rug Dr. or hire a professional.
There's a yellow can of spray foam called tough stuff for that. at Auto zone, wal mart or wherever.

But if you rent a steamer it would really do the job...
    DAWN DISH SOAP
I personally use dawn dish soap diluted with water!!!! it works better than anything i have tried.

    oxiclean

What can i use to shampoo the cloth upholstery of my car?

A CAN OF ';TUFF STUFF'; WHICH CAN BE PURCHASED AT ANY WAL-MART OR AUTO PARTS STORE. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND IT WILL WORK GREAT.What can i use to shampoo the cloth upholstery of my car?
Well, as an automotive detailer that knows what goes into the small $100 interior cleaning, I buy my supplies from professional janitorial supply places. Normally they also rent steam cleaners as well, so when I am going to be shampooing an interior (which is quite rare) I normally just rent one from a place like that.

My advice would be to do that. Find a place like that, normally listed in the yellow pages under chemicals or cleaning and ask them the prices on heated shampooers. They'll also have the best shampoos there too.
i buy kerby vacuum cleaner soap mix it till you get foam and take a scrub brush scrap off the foam and use that it works great and dint take as long as you think it would after you do that vacuum the carpet and it will look great

  • How do I shampoo the roof of my car?

How do I do it? What do I need to buy? Walk me through the process. I'll give ya 10 pnts for the most affective method. How do I shampoo the roof of my car?
Just use a vacuum first with the little brush attachment, then if you need to use a damp cloth. And as another poster said,be gentle. I wouldnt use any cleaners on it unless it is done in a VERY small amount because it can cause the glue to breakdown on headliner and then you really have a problem. Good luckHow do I shampoo the roof of my car?
The same way you would do the seats, just be gentle. There are also some products that spray a foam out and you scrub it with a brush and vacuum it up after it dries that work ok.
I've never even thought of that. Ya, I suppose a carpet cleaner and a toothbrush for the spots would work.

So far I haven't found a decent car shampoo that does what I want it to do. Most of the shampoos I purchased were in a can and some of them weren't made for cleaning the carpet in your car. Can anyone here recommend a good carpet shampoo that won't leave any leftover residue and can be vacuumed up with my shop-vac? I've used 409, Resolve and Spot Shot which are all in spray cans and available in most super markets. You need to vacuum thoroughly BEFORE you use them, scrub them in with a good stiff bristle brush then let them dry and vacuum thoroughly again. I've had good success with them doing that. I even use them on the rugs in my house, the carpets in my Motor Home and the car seats.

Blue corral makes a shampoo for the interior. the front bumper cover looks like it has been hit, it has a round mark on the driver side and the passenger side is out of line below the headlight where the bumper cover meats the fender. the interior looks like it has been shampooed and the nap of the fabric is facing different directions, you may find brushing it all the same direction may make it look better,
that depends on how thick the carpet is, but it will probably work your only problem would be getting the shampoo out.... i would just use a rag and some water and scrub like there ain't no tomorrow.... but that's just what i would do : )

Does anyone else use car shampoo or is it just me?

if you do don't you think it makes the metal shiny Does anyone else use car shampoo or is it just me?
I always use Turtle Wax shampoo on both my cars every weekend as it leaves a thin layer of wax on the bodywork, which, when it is dried off, gives a brilliant shine without using any polishes.

I've done this on every car I've owned for at least the last 20 years!

So, yes, I agree with you and I'm sure that we're not the only ones, judging by other car owners in my neighbourhood.

Keep at it!Does anyone else use car shampoo or is it just me?
Some car products add a little wax to the body work, some take away and there are products that will remove wax altogether. More to the issue than a few bubbles and I certainly will not use washing up liquid.

So, I would investigate what products do what. Personally I use a carnuba wax and shampoo that does not add or remove the wax. Bit like a non bio washing powder for cloths. Nice and safe.
    What's wrong with washing-up liquid?
I've used shampoo to wash my car and yeah I agree it leaves it nice and shiny.
its just you who would want their hair to smell like car

Go to the auto parts store and buy some Bug and Tar Remover. Works great!
WD40 works as will any commercial tar and bug remover
Get a tar remover from the auto supply store.
I've had this same problem with my car -- we've tried goof off and two different brands of bug and tar remover to no avail. What helped me (but it's still not completely off) is putting concentrated spots of Dawn dish detergent on the sap (use a bottle cap or something to try to keep the detergent on it) and letting it sit for a couple hours. Then I also used a Magic Eraser on what was left -- it worked, BUT it dulled the paint in that area, I haven't tried buffing and waxing yet to see if the shine will return.

A little gasoline, kerosene, or lighter fluid on a rag will take sap off your windows with no problem -- but don't try it on the paint.

Hope your sap isn't as persistent as mine :o)
bug and tar remover from your local auto parts store...make sure it is clear coat safe
try caustic or sulfuric acid it should remove paint and anything else on the car then you don't have to waste your shampoo on your car.

p.s. shave your head and you will save money on shampoo!
I use alcohol to remove pine sap from my car.

I like this, it's perfectly for me. http://rds.yahoo.com/**http%3a//www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GXZ5JM?ie=UTF8%26amp;tag=weisho-20%26amp;linkCode=as2%26amp;camp=1789%26amp;creative=390957%26amp;creativeASIN=B000GXZ5JM This high yield foaming auto shampoo bursts into mounds of suds when introduced to water and agitated. The bubbles work to encapsulate oily residue and dirt even before your mitt touches the paint. This rich foam - combined with our own advanced cleaning agent- leaves your vehicle looking and feeling fantastically clean and bright. When blasted through a foam gun, DP Xtreme is at its best because its the only car shampoo formulated for foam guns. The high soap to water ratio produced by a foam gun allows this intense shampoo to produce FROTHY FOAM unlike any shampoo youve used before. The high viscosity of DP Xtreme allows the suds to cling to the vehicle in order to begin grabbing dirt and oil on contact. With the help of a soft, clean sponge or mitt, youll achieve an Xtreme clean with this super-sudsing car wash.

if they can buy it, you can buy it. the problem is they buy wholesale, you don't know how long you will have that car, the way the economy is going, you may not even know how long you will have A car so you don't need to buy a whole lot

yes. go to the car place and they probably sell it there.

  • What is the purpose of triethanolamine in car shampoo or air freshener? what are its uses? what does it do?

want to make my own shampoo and aire freshener. I want to know its effects on shampoo or freshener or liquid detergentWhat is the purpose of triethanolamine in car shampoo or air freshener? what are its uses? what does it do?
Triethanolamine, often abbreviated as TEA, is an organic chemical compound which is both a tertiary amine and a tri-alcohol. A tri-alcohol is a molecule with three hydroxyl groups. Like other amines, triethanolamine acts as a weak base due to the lone pair on the nitrogen atom.

This ingredient is used as a pH balancer in cosmetic preparations in a variety of different products - ranging from skin lotion, eye gels, moisturizers, shampoos, shaving foams etc.

As with any amines, it may have the potential to create nitrosamines, but with the low concentrations used in cosmetic products the chances of that happening is very slim and it is further theorized that nitrosamines cannot penetrate the skin.

It is listed under Schedule 3, part B of the Chemical Weapons Convention as it can be used in the manufacture nitrogen mustards. What is the purpose of triethanolamine in car shampoo or air freshener? what are its uses? what does it do?
It smells like something. I Don't know.
Triethanolamine is used as a pH balancer in cosmetic preparations in a variety of different products - ranging from skin lotion, eye gels, moisturizers, shampoos, shaving foams etc. It is used widely in transparent soap. It is sometimes listed on the ingredient label as TEA. When used in lotion it acts as a moisturizing agent.

Because this ingredient is an alkanolamine and widely used in cosmetic preparations, there was concern that it may have potential to create nitrosamines and that nitrosamines could penetrate the skin. Three studies were conducted and the final results are as follows:

    Evaluation:

There is inadequate evidence in humans for the carcinogenicity of triethanolamine.

There is inadequate evidence in experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of triethanolamine.

    Overall evaluation

Triethanolamine is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans (Group 3).

A description of FDA Group 3 is given below:

Group 3: The agent (mixture or exposure circumstance) is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans. This category is used most commonly for agents, mixtures and exposure circumstances for which the evidence of carcinogenicity is inadequate in humans and inadequate or limited in experimental animals. Exceptionally, agents (mixtures) for which the evidence of carcinogenicity is inadequate in humans but sufficient in experimental animals may be placed in this category when there is strong evidence that the mechanism of carcinogenicity in experimental animals does not operate in humans. Agents, mixtures and exposure circumstances that do not fall into any other group are also placed in this category.
It dissolves the aromatic oils used as freshner or scent in shampoos. Being an amine, it could be volatile so could also add to the scent of the fresheners and shampoos.

Can i leave a bottle of shampoo in my car?

i am planning on buying some shampoo today on my lunch break. is it okay to leave it in my car when it is winter and 10-20 degrees outside or will it freeze. would it be better if i went to target after work to get it?Can i leave a bottle of shampoo in my car?
no it won't freeze and it will be fine. Be careful in the snowCan i leave a bottle of shampoo in my car?
It should be fine. If you are worried, cover it with a coat/blanket or put it in your glove box. but I'm sure that your shampoo will be unaffected, as it wont be out there for days and shampoo has a thick consistency.
Yeah. This will be fine. The only way that it would be damaged is if you did not leave it in your car and in the middle of the street (lol). Just for safe measures, cover it with a fleece blanket.
The weather will not affect the shampoo, buy it whenever is convenient

What is the best way to shampoo/clean fabric car seats?

OK, The coffee in my cup has (more than) a few times jumpped out and onto the passanger seat, dust has worked its way into the seats a bit also.

I would like to clen the seats real good; however ';How'; and with ';What'; ?

You can rent a 'rug-doctor' from any supermarket, but that's overkill. You can take your car to detail shop, and have them clean the interior, for about $45. Another thing you can do, is get a foaming-type spray-on cleaner, spray it on the problem area, scrub it with a bristle brush, and then vacuum it up. Test an area first, though. Good luck!!What is the best way to shampoo/clean fabric car seats?
Pet stain remover works great for all kinds of stains. Spray it on and let it soak a bit. You can rent a rug doctor at Fry's or wherever, find a store with the hand held attachment.

    Stay clean, and keep cool.
Just scrub it with soap and water.

Can I wash my car with car soap/shampoo 4 days after polishing/waxing?

Sure you can. In fact, with most waxes (any with carnauba in it) you can wash the car immediately after waxing it if you wanted to. Other protectants such as polymer-based ';waxes'; like Zaino, Nufinish, and Meguiars NXT tend to perform better if they have a few hours to cure, but in all cases you can wash your car the following day.

Just be sure to avoid using dish soaps of any kind because they can actually dissolve away all the wax you just applied. It's best to use a dedicated car wash soap, which is as little as $4 at any auto parts store. Can I wash my car with car soap/shampoo 4 days after polishing/waxing?

car wash shampoo uses for car washing purposes. the main ingredients which i know are sullry, perfume waster, urea, castic soda etc. What is the procedure to make car wash shampoo? what are the ingredients?
    Car soap

1/4 cup vegetable oil-based liquid soap

    Warm water

Mix ingredients in pail. Wash car on lawn instead of the drive to reduce runoff to the street or storm sewer.

    Car wax

    1 cup linseed oil

4 tbsp. carnauba wax (available at auto supply stores)

    2 tbsp. beeswax

    1/2 cup vinegar

Put ingredients in top half of a double-boiler or saucepan. Heat slowly until wax has melted. Stir and pour into a heat resistant container. After wax has solidified, rub it on the car with a lint-free cloth. Saturate a corner of a cotton rag with vinegar and polish the wax to a deep shine.

What kind of apholstry cleaner (machine?) do I use to shampoo my car's seats and floors?

I want to shampoo out my car and I don't know what product (s) to use or what type of cleaner to buy! HELP!!What kind of apholstry cleaner (machine?) do I use to shampoo my car's seats and floors?
I wouldn't recommend using a machine because the interior will get too wet. The excess water will get below the carpet and the floor pans will start to rust. After you've thoroughly vacuumed the interior to remove sand, grit, dirt and cigarette ashes, just go to the auto parts distributor and get some Maguiars, Mother's, Turtle Wax, Armor All or whatever interior cleaner or upholstery and rug cleaning product you prefer; follow the instructions and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

How do I shampoo my car?

What do I use that is cheap? I don't really want to get it done professionally because it costs too much. How do I shampoo my car?
Assuming you mean the carpet and upholstery inside the car?

Here is how you did it in the old days before car detailing shops where around, and if you really cared about your upholstery.

pour about a quarter cup of laundry detergent into a large bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water, make lots of foam.

Put the foam on the fabric, gently scrub with a brush. Using just the foam keeps the fabric from getting too wet. It takes a long time to do it right.

Here is how I do it now that I have a shop vac.

I pour the soap water onto my floor boards, scrub the heck out of it it a large scrub brush, and wet vac the whole mess up.

I use a spray carpet cleaner on the seats, using a brush on any spots, and vacuum that up after dries. How do I shampoo my car?

Hello My name is Don. I will answer your question and tell you how to get your mirror finish.

Yes use a good shampoo recomended for vehicles ( not household as they contain acids, and can spoil your car paintwork. ) .After washing rinse well, and dry with a chamois ,if possible . Now to shine. With a good polish,Autoglym or similar ,follow the application instructions. One little tip. After polishing your car bodywork, dampen the polish application cloth ( this also must be soft non abrasive ),and go over your nice shiny paintwork. Then buff up when dry to a super gloss. Doing this will level out any overzealous application of polish. Repeat performance and you will have a coating to see the vehicle through the winter months. When washing, wash with sponge containing the wash n wax shampoo, wash off with another sponge with clear water, and dry using a microfibre cloth. The microfibre cloth can be hand or machine washed. The chamois must be gently hand washes easing out any dirt ,and when clean the chamois ought to be soaked in a soapy solution excess wrung out ,and chamois gently stretched side to sie ,end to end ,and hung up to dry, You have just gleaned over thirty years of experienced info . all best Don
Marketing and sales people must just love you! Price is not necessarily an indication of quality or efficiency! A mirror finish ? Not with a wax wash shampoo, the amount of wax deposited is miniscule. Do it the hard way, wash, dry, polish! Mer is certainly decent stuff and meguiars likewise.
T-cut lightly to remove any nasty bits.

Clean with autoglym wash and get some autoglym super resin polish to put a hard coat deep shine over the paintwork.

Colour magic is good if you want to do it every week but if you use it and leave it a couple of months makes paint look nasty.

DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID, hopefully someone will pour a bottle over his vehicle.

Buy the autoglym from local accessory shop or from autoglym guy you will see in dealers at various times.

Don't buy it from halfords or charlie browns etc, they will charge you loads for it.
Do NOT use brake fluid it will remove all the paintwork. Wash your car with any car shampoo, dry it off then use a good car polish.

Many on the market, I use 'Mer' on my motorhome (german make) if you cant get it use Turtle or any major brand, you may have to do it a few times to get a really good shine.
If you are genuinely serious, check out 'Clear Autobathe' from Zymol.

    It costs 拢80 a litre.

For the ultimate shine, Zymol also offer their 'Royale Glaze Wax' polish, at just 拢5,041 per kilo (no, that's not a mistype - it really is 5 grand a kilo...).

But, let's face it, you probably didn't actually mean ';really expensive';, did you?
I've had excellent results with Meguiar's

Will using too much car wash shampoo damage the paint of my auto?

If the directions say to put one ounce per gallon but i put like half the bottle would it damage the paint on the body? It is a car wash concentrate with wash and waxWill using too much car wash shampoo damage the paint of my auto?
just dont let it dry on the carWill using too much car wash shampoo damage the paint of my auto?
Too much concentration will strip any wax you have on the paint. The wax that is included in the ';Wash and Wax'; isn't worth much for protection so yes, it is harmful. Remember, it isn't really benefiting you much to use higher concentration levels. One mostly unknown tip is that the actual water in the wash does 90% of the cleaning. The soap is mostly for surface lubrication to prevent scratches and swirls.
Since you have to rinse it off when you are done, it won't hurt. You are just wasting the stuff by pouring way more than needed into the mix.

  • Can i use fairy liquid instead of car shampoo?

I just cant be bothered to get down halfords and buy some moreCan i use fairy liquid instead of car shampoo?
Fairy liquid/washing up liquid has salt in it to cut thru the grease. You could use it as a one off but regular use could effect your paintwork.

They sell car shampoo in poundland, wilkinsons. Cheaper than halfords and works just as goodCan i use fairy liquid instead of car shampoo?
For a one-time car wash, its ok. Do not make a habit of it, though. If you cannot prise yourself away from the interwebs, order some proper car shampoo online and have it delivered.
    yes
i use dawn dish soap about 3 bucks and always have it been working fine for me pass 40 yrs
First off, don't buy Shampoo in hal'frauds'... Buy it in Tesco, you'll get the same product but about 拢2 cheaper haha.

Secondly, if you car is a bit dirty and you are too lazy to be 'bothered' to wash it properly, then what's the point of even doing it.

Fairy liquid will just make your life 10x harder... It's really thick and has loads of detergent, designed for getting grease off of dirty plates. It will leave streaky marks all over your car, especially on your windows. Seeing as you can't be arsed to get some car shampoo, I'm assuming you can't be arsed to polish the car either, so it'll look gash haha.

Go get some rapid drying stuff, makes washing the car 10x easier :).

What happens if I only wash my car with car shampoo ?

After I wash my car , I let it dry.

Will my car's paint fade each time I do a car wash if I don't put turtle wax?

Do I need to wax my car ?

ThanksWhat happens if I only wash my car with car shampoo ?
Clear coat or not, you still should keep a layer of wax on your car. Clear coat is simply a transparent paint. Wax will keep a layer that is renewable (by re-waxing every so often) to protect the permanent coatings (clear coat). This is especially helpful with all the contaminants that are in rain water. If you let that water bake in the hot sun like after a mid day summer shower, those minerals will etch into your clear coat and give you those water spots you see so often.

Bottom line, use a high quality wax and use it often. What happens if I only wash my car with car shampoo ?
I am a polymer engineer with dupont,

When you wash your car with a shampoo the shampoo does such a good job of removing dirt dust and grime and any protective coatings, that after wash, your car paint looses its slip (ie: run your finger over a washed car and if it makes a sound your finger has something to grip onto ) What this lack of slip does specially if your car has swirls is attract fine dust and particulate matter in the air which in turn attract oil or grime by way of exhaust fumes from other cars and general use...The best way to protect your car from this is to use a good car shampoo or even hair shampoo without conditioner and after drying use Natural Carnuba Car wax this will greatly reduce the slip of your car and will help maintain its paint work...Please use a silicon based white wax if your car has many scratches as Carnuba wax would leave a very slight yellow tint because of the scratches.
There are a lot of factors to consider at when looking at paint fading, like what colour is the car, do you live or work in an industrial area... and so on.

But I can offer some advice that has helped me:- use a car shampoo, with a wax in it. These are easily available in you local automotive stores.

If the car has a 2 K paint (that is a colour without a glittery finish), it is preferable to polish it every year and wax it once a month, to keep it in good condition.

On the other hand, don't use an abrasive polish on your paint, as this will do more damage in the long run.

So if you only wash your car with shampoo, it'll be clean, but with time your ride will fade...
Usually the cause of fading paint for cars is just too much sun, because it dries out the paint. so whenever your not driving it your car cover it up if possible to protect it from too much sun light. your car paint is just your skin, too much and you get dry, ashy, and light.
I have use shampoo for 25 years, works well

my mother was going to throw a gallon of unwanted shampoo, instead I took it and used it to was my car
depends how new your car is, it might not need wax......but wax will protect it some the sun and the elements i believe........
You should wax your car no more then once every 3 months at most. Some waxes last longer.
Most newer cars do not really need to be waxed.

Does expensive car shampoo make a difference?

You won't find much difference in car wash soaps, some may have 'conditioners' which are usually a petroleum based product that ads a temporary extra shine to the paint, but in your case quality workmanship is the most important factor of the wash. They won't see the extra shine as much as they will see what you've MISSED ! Do a great job and ask for a $15 suggested donation for just the outside and $25 if you vacuum and do the windows!Does expensive car shampoo make a difference?

About $25.00 for a 1/2 gallon container. Concentrated will cost you the same, but you obviously use much less.
    10-20
    Free. I do that myself.

Put money in the car wash and wand the carpet with the hot steamy water inside the car. Yes, I said inside the car on the carpet, mostly. Then, in less than 5 min., pull up to the vacuum and suck all that water out of your car.

Leave windows down for 24 hrs. Don't try to leave car doors open, it runs down the battery.

Why pay when you can do it yourself?
