Can i wash my car with hair shampoo?

can i without chipping the paint and clean the carCan i wash my car with hair shampoo?
Most hair shampoo's are very mild and shouldn't chip the paint or leave residue. Otherwise, you wouldn't want to use it on your hair.

If anything, you will probably have the opposite problem, where the suds are not ';strong'; enough.

Hi how are you. The answer is yes, but it doesn't work as well. If you have nothing else then go ahead or use dish washing liquid. The real secret is how hot is the water you are using(never use cold water to wash your car) and you must always rinse the car first. If you don't rinse the car before you soap it then rub the sponge or cloth into the paint work you are rubbing in dirt or tar or bird poo, etc. Bad for the paint work. You do know that hair shampoo doesn't have quite as many cutting agents as car shampoo. Hair shampoo is gentle, car shampoo is harsh. In a nutshell hair shampoo doesn't clean as efficiently as car shampoo and you can't damage the paint work unless it is old, cracked, flaking or rusty. Always rinse your car thoroughly I can't stress that enough. Hope that helps advice from a forner car detailer cheers and good luck
Dont use hair shampoo use soap and water then get a rag or sponge and wipe it off then spray it down with a water hose . You also have to rinse it off with water hose first. but if thats to hard just take it to a car wash
You can actually get the car cleaner when you wash it with a

liquid laundry detergent and a rag without the worry of ruining

the paint.
partially yes ,you can wash with it,actually i've also washed it a several times with the hair shampoo
Certainly. But use the anti-dandruff variety!

I'd also suggest using hair conditioner to keep it shiny and manageable!
Use proper car shampoo other wise you will ruin the paint on your car.

It isn't expensive and it lasts for quite a few washes.
well it's soap, i heard some people use tide laundry detergent to wash dishes if they ran out of dish liquid soap,so i guess it would not hurt your vehicle.
no because the cleaning solution in shampoo will not be strong enough to clean your car completely and most of all, it could leave a film which can dull the shine on your car.
No you shouldn't there is special soap for cars at the AutoZone, its also supposed to be better for your car
the ingredients in hair shampoo can strip the wax on ur car.
